Snacking is an important part of people’s lives, especially for children. Small children’s stomachs fill up very quickly and
they quickly burn much of that energy. Snacks are a great source of many nutrients and they provide hydration that every body needs.
Just as every car needs fuel to work well, so does our bodies. Our bodies need proper nutrition so that we can function well.
Snacks also contain more than 20% of children’s total energy intake. When they are younger, children need snacks twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon. When they are older, children have more snacks after school.
The best option for snacks is fruits and vegetables. It’s even better if they go with some protein, grains, etc…
Do your children eat a healthy snack?
We know that eating unhealthy foods is harmful to your body and as a result you will have problems with your health and you will be overweight. For optimal health, doctors recommend eating two healthy snacks (fruits or vegetables) a day.
Every child wants to eat chocolate instead of a healthy snack. But it is very important from an early age to teach your child to consume less unhealthy foods.
To entice your kids to want healthy snacks, we suggest you make the snacks sweet and funny.
This way you can prepare gluten-free, vegan, and sodium-low bug snacks for your kids:
